Practical resources when you or a friend is in need of help.

It has become a rare occurrence to come across an individual unaffected by the struggles and intricacies of mental health. Whether it is a brother, a friend, or even yourself, there exists a gap in both the knowledge and resources with which one could use to help support their loved ones or themselves in times of crises.

Now Matters Now, an organization whose mission is to teach dialectical behavioral therapy skills (DBT) in order to fight and survive suicidal thoughts, is making significant strides in eradicating that gap. On their website, Now Matters Now offers a series of free courses that allow everyone from therapists to mothers to friends to equip themselves with the skills and techniques to support their loved ones who struggle with suicidal thoughts or ideation. Their courses range from one month to twelve months and cover micro-interventions, suicide self care, recommended care and DBT skills. In addition, they offer a multitude of other resources such as models and flyers that can educate you further on how best to support the people you love.

This opportunity to receive free quality training is immensely beneficial in creating better support systems for those struggling with mental health and a more aware and educated society as a whole. Now Matters Now, more than ever, and should be seen as a model for other programs and organizations to follow.
