Help. Hope. Healing
Finding Peace In Treatment.
This week, Promly founder Jen Libby, Gen Z intern Julia Vallario, and mental health ambassador Taya Hoy spent some time together hearing Taya’s personal story of mental health struggles that began as a child, trauma, and ultimate healing in a time she least expected to recover. Taya is now a Gen Z ambassador for Colorado Wellness Center for Girls and a strong advocate for destigmatizing personality disorders.
In this edition of the Promly Garden Podcast, Taya speaks openly about the challenging path that led her to be the person she is today. At 15, after years of struggling with her mental health, Taya was arrested for assaulting her mother. Taya was sent to the Colorado Wellness Center for Girls and ultimately found her peace, and her place in this world as a mental advocate and leader among her peers.
Taya also talks openly about her own diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder, what it took to get that diagnosis and what that means for her and for so many teens that are diagnosed when they are young. Taya aims to pursue research with a particular interest in personality disorders and will continue the fight to destigmatize mental illness and personality disorders.
It is with immense gratitude that Taya speaks of her time in treatment at the Colorado Wellness Center for Girls and it is with immense gratitude that we share Taya’s story .
